The days of “Flower Power” and “Make Love, Not War” are alive and well as we bring the 60’s back to the PIX.  Local artists will pay tribute to the acts that made this era what it was.  We will share the music that propelled the peace movement and gave life to the Haight-Ashbury scene.  The music and the decade culminated with the greatest rock concert ever…Woodstock.  Join us as we pay tribute to an era that changed us all.

A Salute to the U.S.O.          Sunday November 11, 2007 (Veterans Day)                         with a 2:30 pm Curtain Tickets:  $10

The scene is a little theatre where a small cast of performers have gathered to entertain the troops before they get shipped off the war.  This show will feature some of the greatest songs of the 1940’s and we will be “cooking with gas” as we bring back some of the funniest bits from Vaudeville, Burlesque, and English Music Hall comedy.   Join us as we have fun with and salute not only our World War II veterans, but all veterans and the sacrifices they made.  Veterans will receive a special gift from the PIX.

Christmas Crescendo                      Saturday December 15, 2007 with a 7:30 pm Curtain Tickets:  $10

Once again this season we ask you to join us at the PIX for a celebration with family and friends.  Local artists will delight you with songs and stories of the Christmas season and an audience sing along will leave you filled with peace and joy.  Bring the entire family, especially the youngsters because rumor has it, Santa will be making a special appearance.

If you love Country Music, then you will love this installment in the Local Artist Series.  We will break out our cowboy hats, dust off our boots and rustle up some of the best Country Music you have ever heard.  The Country show is an annual favorite here at the PIX and this season promises to be better than ever.   So mosey on down and get your tickets early.

Fans of the Prairie Home Companion radio show will be sure to get more than just of few chuckles out of our own Lapeer version.  Members of the cast will introduce you to the denizens of Will Knock You Out Radio and some of the citizens of our home town.   We will poke a little fun at our town and ourselves in this wonderfully written original show.

This production will showcase the talent that resides right here in the Lapeer Area.  Local songwriters will present an evening of all original songs.  It will be an evening of pure enjoyment to have these talented entertainers gathered at the PIX for one night only.  It is a pleasure for the PIX to be able to present these songwriters and their material, some of which will be performed for the very first time in public.

This is the longest running of the PIX’s Local Artist Series events and is a crowd pleaser year after year.  This year promises to be no different.  Join us as our artists perform songs from the great white way.  Broadway Musical fans love to hear songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rogers and Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, Lorenz Hart, Lerner and Lowe, and Steven Sondheim.  There is something here for every musical theatre fan to love.
