The Greater Lapeer Transportation Authority provides transportation to the general public of the Lapeer area. We provide transportation to medical appointments, to and from work or school, to shopping centers, and anywhere else in our service area (see services townships below). With the rising costs of gas and insurance, the GLTA is a cost effective alternative from driving your own car. GLTA buses come right to your curb to take you where you want to go.
Call dispatch at (810) 664-4566 to arrange rides.
230 South Monroe Street
Lapeer, MI 48446
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday - 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The GLTA is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
- GLTA serves the following townships plus the city of Lapeer: Mayfield, Oregon, Deerfield, Elba, and Lapeer
- Some "out of service area" rides may be arranged on an "available bus" basis. Call Fred at (810) 664-4468 for more information.
- GLTA buses are equipped with lifts to assist the physically challenged. Please inform the dispatcher that you need a lift equipped bus when you call.
- If you book a ride and decide later you do not want it, call the GLTA to cancel the ride. Repeat "no-shows" will be billed for the rides you forgot to cancel. This bill must be paid in order to resume service.
- Unlike a taxi, the GLTA buses will make several stops to pick up or drop off other passengers. Allow extra time for those trips to appointments.
- Eating food, drinking beverages and smoking is prohibited on all GLTA buses. Please do not violate this rule.
- The GLTA provides curb service only.
